Pakistan and France: global security perspectives and worldviews’’: The premier French-Pakistani seminar in the field of international politics at the Institute of Strategic Studies of Islamabad (ISSI)

The premier French-Pakistani seminar in the field of international politics took place on the 7th and 8th of November 2006 at the Institute of Strategic Studies of Islamabad. The selected theme was ’’Pakistan and France: global security perspectives and worldviews’’.
The sessions were opened by Mr. Inam-ul-Haque, President of the ISSI, H.E. Mr. Regis de Belenet, Ambassador of France to Pakistan and by Dr. Shireen Mazari, Director General of ISSI.
The participants were from the French side: Mr. Serge Sur, Professor in Paris 2 and Director of the Thucydide Centre, Mr. Guillaume Parmentier, Director of French Centre on the United States in IFRI, Mr. Robert Frank, Professor in Paris -Sorbonne and Director of the IRICE Centre, Mr. Jean-Luc Racine, Director of Research at CNRS and member of the Study Centre on India and on South Asia, Mr. Pierre Grosser, professor in the Institute of the Political Studies in Paris, Dr. Gilles Boquérat, Research Associate-visiting scholar at the ISSI, and from the Pakistan side: Ambassador. Zamir Akram, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Fauzia Nasreen, Additional Secretary Europe, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Fahmida Ashraf, Director South Asia in ISSI, Dr. Rasul Bakhsh Rais, Head of the Social Science Department in the LUMS university Lahore and H.E. The Ambassador Javid Hussain.</p<
