India/Pakistan – Signing of an agreement between India and Pakistan on the opening of the Kartarpur corridor (24 October 2019)

France welcomes the signing yesterday of an agreement between Pakistan and India on the opening of a corridor aimed at facilitating access by Indian and international Sikh pilgrims to a holy site in Kartarpur, in Pakistan.

This initiative will help ease tensions and is conducive to the resumption of bilateral dialogue between India and Pakistan.

It strengthens the exercise of religious freedom, to which France is deeply committed, notably for minorities.
