A

December 2009 at the main office of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) at
Islamabad, between HEC and EGIDE, in the frame of the HEC project “Overseas
Scholarships for Ms/Mphil Leading to PhD in Selected Fields (Phase-II)”.

Dr. Javaid
R. Laghari, Chairman HEC, presided over the ceremony. Mr. Daniel Jouanneau,
Ambassador of France to Pakistan, Mr. Dominique Hénault, Director General of
EGIDE, and Dr. Sohail Naqvi, Executive Director HEC, were also present at the

Besides placing scholars, EGIDE also takes care of other
administrative matters like monitoring of study progress and the accounting of
any programme expenditure occurring in France. As France’s leading international
exchange operator, EGIDE is a key partner of the French Ministry of Foreign
Affairs, with which it has worked for 45 years. EGIDE personnel hold unique
expertise in managing international exchanges for students, researchers, experts
and high-profile guests, on behalf of institutions, universities, companies and
associations.
