Climate – Diplomatic network update / Germany (November 4, 2015)
Laurent Fabius called on our ambassadors to increase the number of climate initiatives in preparation for the Paris Climate Conference.
The Embassy of France in Germany is hosting two events on this topic today.
At the University of Tübingen, Ambassador Philippe Etienne will present the issues that will be raised during COP21 to political and economic actors from the state of Baden-Württemberg.
In Berlin, the embassy will host a parliamentary evening in partnership with the German Development Institute. This event will bring together members of the Bundestag from all parties, diplomats, scientists and representatives of civil society to discuss the implementation of climate policies. Thomas Silberhorn, Germany’s Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, will deliver the opening speech at this event where Yann Arthus Bertrand’s "60 solutions against climate change" exhibition will be unveiled before it travels to other venues in Germany.
